Senior Software Engineer

Sunbound is seeking a senior full-stack software engineer to join its team and aid with the development of its core product. This is an early engineering role at Sunbound, and will carry a lot of opportunities to work closely with the founders and shape company direction and culture. Ideal candidates will be opinionated about choices of technology and how best to implement different solutions. 

Responsibilities

As a senior full-stack software engineer, you will…

• Help make foundational architectural and engineering design decisions
• Be responsible for product architecture and implementation
• Collaborate with the founding team on product ideation and direction
• Provide input into how offline processes can best be implemented in product
• Help shape the engineering team as it grows over time. Be a part of the hiring process and mentor junior engineers.

Skills and Qualifications

• BA or BS (or Master’s) in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Experience at fintech companies a major plus
• Experience building software solutions incorporating disparate aspects of complex business processes
• Proficiency in full-stack web development
• Proficiency with React
• Proficiency with Node.js or other back end frameworks like Rails or Flask
• Clear communication verbally and in writing with non-technical stakeholders
